Overwatch Adding New Character Moira, "Ambitious" Talon Geneticist

Overwatch goes to Blizzard World early in 2018 as Moira joins the fray

The hero, revealed by Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan at BlizzCon 2017, deals damage while healing her allies.

"Moira" is the new support healer on her way to Overwatch, offering a mix of damage-dealing and healing abilities. Her ability to heal will be resource based, and it will be fueled by the amount of damage that she does. Blizzard has provided a deeper breakdown of Moira's abilities and backstory on the official Overwatch site, however, is yet to announce a release date. She will also sport a movement ability, fade, which will allow her to quickly teleport over a short distance. So Blizzard can advertise its other games to you while you're playing Overwatch. Yay! This skill is called Bionic Grasp, and the damaging energy can also heal Moira and restore her energy. Continuing to expand on the game's multiplayer content, a new playable character and multiplayer map have been showcased. Yep, Blizzard's finally making a theme park built around its many beloved series, but you'll probably be too busy pushing the payload to wait in line for an overpriced beverage at the Hearthstone Tavern.

Moira will be available to test on the PC's public test region soon and available to play next year.

Furthermore, Blizzard showed off a new animated cinematic for Reinhardt, one of its more popular tank heroes, focussing on his backstory and his reasons for joining Overwatch.

With the rest of the day still chock full of games and workshops, BlizzCon 2017 is shaping up to be bigger than ever.
