Plane carrying OKC Thunder dented by bird while landing at Midway

Steven Adams' bad flight: Plane suffers serious damage in mid-air

What would cause this type of damage?

The plane carrying National Basketball Association stars of the Oklahoma City Thunder was damaged mid-air, when the nose of the plane was caved in Friday night.

Players who flew on the team charter from Minneapolis to Chicago landed around 1 p.m., ESPN reported. They saw the dent as they exited the aircraft.

"Delta flight 8935, operating from Minneapolis to Chicago-Midway as a charter flight for the Oklahoma City Thunder, likely encountered a bird while on descent into Chicago", a spokesman said. She said the Boeing 757-200 landed safely at Midway.

"We had a rough flight to say the least".

Baffled center Steven Adams even took to Twitter to ask NASA, television personality and engineer Bill Nye, and renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson: "What caused this?".

A Thunder spokesperson told The Oklahoman that all players, staff and coaches were safe. "Safety is Delta's top priority".

Thankfully, as Anthony mentioned in his post, everyone is OK, and the team has safely arrived in Chicago. Oklahoma City plays the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.
