Pakistan, Sri Lanka teams arrive in Lahore for 3rd T20I

Pakistan Might Soon Become Top T-20 Cricket Team In The World

Pakistan showcases its security capabilities to the cricketing world for the third time in eight months on Sunday when it hosts Sri Lanka in a Twenty20 worldwide at Lahore's heavily guarded Gaddafi Stadium.

Sri Lanka coach Nic Pothas urged the tourists to show more character after they lost the first match on Thursday, but they capitulated from 106-1 to 124-9 a day later after a half-century from Danushka Gunathilaka (51) at the top of the order.

Pakistan has only hosted Zimbabwe for a short limited-overs series two years ago since the 2009 attack. The way the Pakistani team is playing indicates that soon Pakistan will be able to beat New Zealand and become the best T-20 team in the world.

Several thousand security officials will be on duty Sunday with armed military personnel around the stadium and on the route of team buses to the stadium. Jacob Oram and Tim Southee secured hat-tricks against Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively. Sri Lanka too, unfortunately, couldn't get out of the rut and missed the experienced players.

With the last match in the series set to be held in Lahore, a number of Sri Lanka regulars - including captain Upul Tharanga and Lasith Malinga - had opted out of the games due to safety concerns.

A group of Sri Lankan security experts reviewed the security arrangements being made for the third and final T20 between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on October 29 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
