Even amid latest Bryant drama, Steelers control AFC North

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown celebrates with JuJu Smith-Schuster afters scoring during the first half of an NFL football game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Pittsburgh Sunday Oct. 22 2017

Smith-Schuster, the Pittsburgh Steelers' 20-year-old rookie receiver, posted Tuesday on social media that the bicycle he rides to practice had been stolen, asking "why people got to be like that?"

That post was quickly deleted, with Bryant then attempting to clarify his remarks: "JuJu is the future and got great talent and is going to be one of the best to play this game", Bryant wrote. That wasn't the face, Heyward said, of someone who was anxious. "It's obvious that we still got more ground to cover with him", Tomlin said.

This Steelers team is good and has a chance to get back to the AFC championship. "And I say somewhat because we're having to field questions regarding him, not because it's high on my damn agenda".

"We've invested a lot".

The problem there is the Steelers were never going to trade Bryant.

The NFL trade deadline is next Tuesday and moving Bryant doesn't make much sense for the Steelers even if Bryant's production dips.

But all it takes is one general manager who'll overlook the risks - selfishness and one more slip-up from another National Football League exile - and see perhaps the game's most physically gifted receiver not named Julio Jones.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the wideout said on SportsCenter that he is prepared to leave as a free agent following the 2018 season unless his role in the offense changes. Smith-Schuster was pretty torn up about it, too. I worked my ass off to get myself back with no help and little support, period.

"We've invested a lot, we've covered a lot of ground", Tomlin said. Disgruntled teammate Martavis Bryant called out Smith-Schuster on Instagram, and then someone stole JuJu's beloved bike.

Smith-Schuster also said Bryant's comments didn't bother him.

Smith-Schuster was there, though. "He's not available via trade", Tomlin told reporters, via Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network. "It's hard to spread it around".

"I mean, I'm a team player". If they stay in this quarters, I know we're supposed to run it, but I'm taking a shot.

There is a case to be made for why Bryant is frustrated, but these types of situations should be handled behind closed doors, not on social media.
