Another fast food chain, Wendy's, has also commented on the joke, expressing disappointment that KFC are not "following back".

The other six are accounts of users with the first name Herb, including Green Bay Packers player Herb Waters and musician Herb Alpert. It's unclear how long the Twitter account has been following the six men named Herb and the five Spice Girls.

Five of those 11 people KFC began following last month are Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie C.

The connection was noticed on Twitter by a user who goes by "Edge". Today, we learned that KFC only follows 5 women and 6 men on Twitter and the reason why is INSANE...

"11 Herbs & Spices", the tweet reads, paying homage to KFC's long-time market slogan of their chicken being made with a secret recipe with "11 spices and herbs".

KFC tells The Associated Press it has been following the 11 Herbs and Spices for about a month.

KFC, who recently reintroduced Colonel Sanders with actor Ray Liotta on their commercials, has been working all of their marketing angles.
