Florida Detective Wrangles Up 9-Foot Yellow Anaconda

The snake retaliates a bit and coils around her wrist, sending a chill down our spine!

The footage shows Shaw picking up the snake by its tail and the furious reptile comes at the officer as she swiftly moves out of the way of its fangs.

Shaw used a thick tree branch and one bare hand to drag the serpent from a bed of leaves in storm ditch, and slowly maneuvered it into a duffel bag. She managed to drag it into the opening of the bag, and zip it shut.

The video was posted on Leon County's Facebook page.

Detective Emily Shaw reached the location where the snake was spotted after receiving a call.

The post said the detective has experience handling exotic snakes.

In the bio on their official site they say: "The Leon County Sheriff's Office not only prides itself on putting the community first - we also have many deputies who constantly go above the call of duty for our animal friends".

Several people applauded the Detective's courage, Rick Garlin commented, "This girl is awesome!"

Jenni Ingram commended Shaw, "Awesome job detective!"

Video of the capture has gone viral, piling up almost 2,000 shares, since it was uploaded to the Sheriff's Office's Facebook page Thursday.
