The headphone jack is dead and I blame Google

Here are all the other gadgets that Google announced last night

On the software side of things, Google Lens lets the Pixel 2 and 2 XL recognize objects in frame and even perform a kind of real-world Google image search. In fact if not better, the samples prove Pixel 2's camera is as good as it sounds on paper. It is also important to note that all of Samsung's 2017 flagship family have narrowed bezels and somehow the Korean giant managed to incorporate an IP68 water-resistance rating as well as a headphone jack. Many people choose one phone over the other due to their cameras. Now Google has offered something of an explanation, putting it down - at least in part - to the "bezel-less future" of phones. They are straight out of the future and if they work even half as good as what Google is claiming, the Pixel Buds will set the tone for the world of future where there will be nearly no language barriers.

However, they have managed to salvage this news by creating something that is ridiculously innovative: Pixel Buds. Artificial Intelligence, one of its software positive characteristic will help it in improving the design of its hardware component.

"The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL mount a 12.3MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), EIS (gyro), phase detection and laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and 1/2.6" sensor size, and an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.4 aperture and 1.4 μm pixel size.

Google has set the bar high, and with companies like Samsung and Apple in competition, we are in store for some great new phones in the next couple of years.

The iPhone X has 3 GB RAM, while the Pixel 2 XL has 4 GB. The Pixel 2 XL will be available in India at a price tag of Rs. 73,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 82,000 for the 128GB storage variant. Inevitably, Google's competitors will attempt to apply the same techniques to their phones. Further, whoever has taken the images must be familiar with the techniques of photography.

The application of AI to consumer tech isn't just happening with cameras, though.

Now as soon as the Pixel 2 pre-orders started in the US, Google was offering a Google Home Mini speaker free on purchase of the new Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL. It will reportedly use Bluetooth and device motion to determine when to activate the feature. For instance, a #Do Not Disturb feature has been discovered in the handsets, which can be turned on while driving. The feature allows users to silence calls, alerts, and notifications while driving. In that vein, it's a safe bet the Home Max will get similar positive reviews, even if it takes an iteration or two to get there.
