Kushner Used Private Email for Government Matters

White House adviser Jared Kushner has also used his personal email for government work.

Trump, who faced Clinton previous year in the race for the White House, criticized the former secretary of state numerous times for her use of private email, leading supporters on chants of "Lock her up" and insisting that her actions were illegal. The messages from Kushner's private email were in regards to events, media coverage, and other topics and were exchanged with Reince Priebus, Steve Bannon, Gary Cohn, and others.

As the site notes, this is just the latest of several reports of Trump administration aides using personal email accounts for official government business.

In a letter to the White House counsel, the committee's chairman, Republican Trey Gowdy, and top Democrat Elijah Cummings said they would examine whether senior Trump administration officials were "deliberately trying to circumvent (federal) laws by using personal, private, or alias email addresses to conduct official government business". "The fact that they would brazenly ignore rules governing email use raises even more questions about their judgment and fitness to hold positions in the White House".

They both no longer work at the White House. Politico reports it has seen and verified more than twenty emails.

Whether the use of the private server for emails is illegal or not, the correspondence will likely be of interest to the ongoing investigations into the last election.

President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, used his personal email account on dozens of occasions to communicate with colleagues in the White House, his lawyer has said.

Again, this wouldn't be such a big deal if Trump hadn't made Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server such a central focus of his presidential campaign.

The revelation obviously recalls the private server scandal that cost then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the god damn presidential election, the preferred talking point of Donald Trump during his campaign. Lowell said that the email exchanges were nearly always initiated by somebody else who emailed Kushner's personal email rather than his White House address.

For almost two years, Trump and his supporters - and many of those who continue to serve with him in the White House - pointed to Clinton's email use not only as a disqualifier but something that warranted criminal charges.
