England all-rounder Moeen Ali brings his 53-ball century with a six

David Willey wants to cement his place in the England ODI side

He went to his 50 off 41 balls with three sixes in an over from former Worcestershire overseas player Miguel Cummins which cost 25 runs.

First game was won by the national team of hosting country.

England put themselves one more win away from sealing the series, with two matches left to play.

England have already made their intentions clear about coming hard at West Indies.

Ali's hundred was also the second quickest by an England batsman at this level after Jos Buttler's 46-ball ODI century against Pakistan in Dubai in 2015.

Root and Stokes both went in a rush of three wickets for 11 runs as Cummins briefly interrupted home progress.

Fellow paceman Holder took two for 81 in 10.

But, with Ali leading the charge, England scored 123 runs in their last 10 overs after being sent into bat by West Indies captain Jason Holder.

Batting at number seven, Ali came to the wicket with England on 210-5 - their aspirations of reaching at least 300 still not certain of being fulfilled.

The biggest concern for West Indies ahead the 3rd ODI was the injury scare for their swashbuckling opener Chris Gayle.

The magnificent Moeen eventually holed out in an eventful penultimate over during which Nurse dropped him twice off his own bowling, England taking 93 off the last six overs.

By contrast, Test skipper Root is enjoying a run-laden summer.

Root broke Graham Gooch's record (1277) for the most global runs in an English summer during another classy knock, putting on 132 for the fourth wicket with Stokes.

Moeen then took centre stage, hitting 24 off five balls of an over from Cummins to pass 50. He completed the job with his eighth six in the space of just 14 balls out of 369 for nine - England's highest total against the Windies.
