New HALLOWEEN Will Feature Jamie Lee Curtis Playing Laurie Strode Again

Blumhouse is producing the new Halloween reboot, which will also have John Carpenter returning to executive produce and possibly score the movie.

When it comes to the Halloween movies, pretty much everyone can agree on two things: the original, 1978 movie directed by John Carpenter is incredible, and the 1981 sequel that Carpenter wrote and produced is mostly good. It's actually, it's gonna continue the story of Michael Myers in a really grounded way. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Halloween ends up being a "legacyquel" where Laurie Strode ends up passing the series over to a new lead character. It's being written by Danny McBride and David Gordon Green with Green directing. The message said, "headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween". And yes, she'll be reprising the iconic role of Laurie Strode.

"You've been asking for updates on Halloween, well, we've got one!" She later returned for Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002), in addition to having a brief, uncredited voice role in Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982). I had such a good cast and I got Jamie Lee Curtis back, so that's kinda' hard to beat.

The film will arrive in theaters from Universal Pictures on October 19, 2018, forty years after the premiere of the original film.

Yes, that's right, the actress will return to the franchise for the upcoming reboot, where she'll "have her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago".
