US Seals Train SKorean Team to Kill Kim in Case of War

NBA star Dennis Rodman: my karaoke nights with Kim Jong-un

Former basketball star Dennis Rodman wants to help prevent a nuclear war and believes that by using sports and camaraderie, he can help the United States and North Korea get along peacefully.

Rodman also noted how he and Kim avoid the issue of politics.

Speaking on ITV's "Good Morning Britain" on Wednesday, the former American basketball player appeared to defend the North Korean dictator and claimed that ongoing tensions could ease if US President Donald Trump just met him in person.

Morgan asked if could accompany Rodman the next time he visits North Korea, and Rodman told him he'd once asked former President Barack Obama to go with him, but Obama roundly refused.

"For me to go over there and see [Kim] as much as I have, I basically hang out with him all the time", Rodman explained. They do a lot of cool things together.

For whatever it's worth, Rodman was a contestant on Trump's Celebrity Apprentice, so he has familiarity with both the celebrity-in-chief and Kim Jong-un. We ride horses, we go skiing.

North Korea has since conducted more tests, including launching a midrange ballistic missile created to carry nuclear bombs over Japan last week.

"If they could just sit down and have some kind of mutual conversation. and just start a dialogue, I think that'll open a door just a little bit". The shirts showed a cartoon image of himself spinning a basketball with with one hand and flashing a peace sign with the other, sandwiched by the words "Ambassador Rodman", the Tribune said. "It is time for him to come on TV and show strength against the repeated threats from North Korea". But as a former contestant on Trump's reality TV show "Celebrity Apprentice", Rodman also noted that he knows Trump can be "a little bit insane sometimes".

Rodman, who called himself an "ambassador for sports" to North Korea, also took credit for the release of 22-year-old American student Otto Warmbier, back to the United States this June.
