In the same article, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett said that he "didn't want to throw anybody under the bus", but the Red Cross "can't get anything done".

Bullock is not the only celebrity to give generously to the Harvey relief effort.

Amid the flooding from Hurricane Harvey, it has helped put more than 32,000 people in shelters and served more than 180,000 meals and snacks since the storm began. In Louisiana, one shelter is open where eight people spent Saturday night.

To help the nonprofit's hurricane work, the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians donated $20,000 on Friday.

CT has not had powerful storms live Garvey but we have had devastation caused by storms such as Irene and Sandy. Though Mayo Clinic does not operate campuses in the regions affected by the hurricane, as a member of the global community, Mayo offers its support to these victims through this donation to the American Red Cross.

Donations pay to transport more than 2,300 disaster workers to Texas, whether by plane, bus or vehicle.

Donations can be made to the Salvation Army by texting "STORM" to 51555, calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY, or visiting SalvationArmy.org.

Donations pay for relief items like diapers and comfort kits that contain deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other hygiene items for people forced from their homes. Each one of them learning how to operate the emergency response vehicle, and how to handle passing out food and water.

According to a release, the company's Charitable Foundation gave the American Red Cross $75,000. "Our financial contributions that are raised here locally go directly there for that effort", said Tawanda Owsley, executive director of the Bluegrass Area Chapter of the Red Cross.

The donation by the "Gravity" star, who owns a house nearby Austin, will benefit the American Red Cross in its ongoing effort to help those impacted by the flooding and destruction along Texas' Gulf Coast.

It's a time where people can pull together and help, like many did after Hurricane Sandy, he said. These gifts enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small. I understand the generosity of the American public.
