Taylor Swift is now a retailer of snake jewelry

Instagram created it after the singer's feud with the Kardashian-Wests a year ago over Kanye West's song Famous. "'Cause she's dead." More than a little on the nose, but at least there's no ambiguity there.

She denied giving permission for the lyrics to feature in the song saying, "I would like to be excluded from this narrative".

"Look What You Made Me Do" uses an interpolation of a melody from "I'm Too Sexy", a No.1 hit that was written by Richard Fairbrass, Fred Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli.

If it weren't clear enough, Swift makes reference to another Kanye incident, adding a voicemail monologue distinctly similar to a certain conversation between the two artists later leaked by Kim Kardashian on Snapchat. And she threw in the album's cover art for good measure: a black-and-white photo of herself - head and shoulders, in slouchy sweater, hair swept back - against a backdrop of newsprint reading, simply, "Taylor Swift" over and over again. Last year, Swift claimed West had slandered her in his album The Life Of Pablo when he rapped "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that bitch famous".

Taylor Swift's new album announcement - which includes a title, release date, and album art - was not something people embraced with quiet contemplation. Thursday night, the pop star released a bad Lorde single called "Look What You Made Me Do".

For most of this week, the entire world (yes, you included) was captivated by speculation as to what Taylor Swift's mysterious social media blackout-cum-snake teaser video stunt would eventually lead to.

Thrilled, the British band took to Twitter to express their thanks for Swift's "marvelous reinvention". Perry seems to have reinforced the analogy in her latest single "Swish Swish", dropping the line: "A tiger don't need opinions from a shellfish or a sheep" - and then really driving home the point with a video that sees rival basketball teams the Tigers and the Sheep facing off. "Taylor's album, 'Reputation, ' is set to drop November 10, exactly 10 years to the day Donda West died from complications from cosmetic surgery".
