I don't decide Philippe Coutinho's Liverpool future - Jurgen Klopp

Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise has his say on Philippe Coutinho's transfer situation.

Barcelona had a bid of around £90 million (S$160m) for the Brazil global rejected by the Reds on Wednesday.

"The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes".

As such, Barca are said to be readying an offer of cash-plus-Rakitic for Coutinho over the coming days, with Ernesto Valverde's side desperate to persuade Liverpool into the sale of their no.1 transfer target before the close of the transfer market.

Barcelona have had two bids of €79m and €100m rejected for the 25-year-old in recent weeks and are expected to return with a third in light of Coutinho, who signed a five-year contract in January, agitating for a transfer. I didn't see the club today - those people.

"I think I've already said it a few times but maybe that's not 100 per cent clear. And that is the way it will go".

The matter blew up after Liverpool insisted early yesterday morning that Coutinho would not be sold at any price amid reports that Spanish giants Barcelona had increased their bid for him to £90 million (S$159 million).

According to Sky sources, Coutinho had indicated he would like to move to the Nou Camp should an amicable solution be reached between Liverpool and Barcelona.

He has missed training in the run up to the clash with a back injury, though is actually believed to be fully fit.

The Independent has been told Liverpool will maintain their stance not to sell but understand that Coutinho was "floored" by FSG's statement on Friday and that a move to Barcelona remains his dream.

Both teams have scored in every one of Watford's opening day games in the Premier League so we like the look of a Liverpool win and BTTS double.

Liverpool were often undone from set pieces last season and new boy Mohamed Salah was clearly unimpressed with the defending he witnessed.

Liverpool were without Philippe Coutinho due to a back injury, as the speculation about the Brazilian playmaker's future continues.

Neymar's £200 million move to Paris could have a knock-on effect in convincing clubs their own stars are worth much more than they once were, meaning Coutinho may be forced to make do with a Liverpool stay.
