Average retail gasoline prices in Pennsylvania have risen 3.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.55/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 5,269 gas outlets in Pennsylvania. "Steady declines in crude supplies have pushed oil prices about $10 per barrel higher than a year ago, making it more expensive to produce gasoline".
The price motorists are paying for a gallon of gas in Virginia is up six cents from a week ago.
This morning, Springfieldians could purchase gas for as low as $2.03 per gallon at a handful of filling stations. While we don't have the lowest prices in the Benton Harbor and St. Joseph area, the average has fallen almost 11¢ from a week ago to $2.39.

Prices Sunday were 14.7 cents per gallon higher in Las Vegas than the same time past year and were 2.7 centers per gallon lower than a month ago.
Officials attribute the rising prices to demand, which peaks in the summer. In nearby San Bernardino, the average cost of fuel was $2.86 per gallon and in Riverside, it was $2.91 per gallon. Both the Miami and Pensacola markets saw an average of $2.31 per gallon. Americans are driving more miles, increasing demand at the pump, and USA oil prices recently returned to the $50-per-barrel mark. Nationally, the highest average was $2.42 per gallon back in April while the lowest was $2.23 per gallon at the start of July.
