The Houston Rockets have agreed to a multiyear contract with 7-foot-2 Zhou Qi, league sources told ESPN. Houston, however, was not permitted to offer a four-year contract because of the Over 38 rule.
After thinking he was locked up for an extra $4 million and another year, Nene was understandably upset when things broke down. Nene laced it up for the Wizards over the ensuing four-plus seasons until the Rocketssigned him to a one-year contract last summer.
Tucker was sold on the Rockets' chance to win, as he said to KRIV-TV in Houston, per Woj: "I'm a victor".
The sides came to an agreement Friday (Saturday, Manila time) shortly before the free agent market opened, ensuring that Nene would remain with a team that just acquired star point guard Chris Paul.
At age 34, Nene averaged 9.1 points and 4.2 rebounds on 62 percent shooting as mid-range-and-in scorer off the bench for the Rockets, who posted the NBA's third-best record last season. They've placed emphasis on defense with Tucker and the offensive ceiling is very high with CP3.
India in new economic era with GST
