Gordon Hayward is set to meet with three teams

The Pacers are fielding trade offers for Paul George

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Hayward is scheduled to meet with all three teams when free agency begins, starting with the Heat on Saturday and then the Jazz on Monday. But both could be on the move now; the Pacers will likely have to trade George now to ensure that they don't lose him for nothing next summer, and Anthony could be freed by NY after the Knicks decided this week to part ways with Phil Jackson after three futile, playoff-free, turbulence-filled seasons. Will something similar to that happen this year, or at least, will one contender gain a really good chance of being able to play Golden State or Cleveland on more equal terms? This past season saw him average a career-best 21.9 points to go with 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Hell, people raised money to put up massive billboards with his image and the hashtag #Stayward, all over the Wasatch Front. With just hours remaining until Hayward hits the market, his every move is going to be reported on.

Paul George recently announced that he will be leaving Indiana Pacers next year to become a free agent.

Gordon Hayward arrived in Utah with scrawny arms and helmet hair, a Jazz lottery selection in 2010. The first order of business in doing so is replacing Gordon Hayward, and I sent Rudy Gay there in an attempt to do so. Think about that. He not only got to play for Jerry Sloan for a year, but he's had three years with Quin Snyder, arguably Jerry Sloan's only replacement.

Would Hayward help the Celtics? The Boston Celtics are widely considered his top pursuer, with Hayward's college coach, Brad Stevens, at the helm in Boston.

Isaiah Thomas, Al Horford, Avery Bradley and other veterans led Boston to 53 wins, the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and a berth in the conference finals last season.

It didn't take long for Stevens to gain respect in the National Basketball Association after leaving Butler for Boston in 2013. The third thing is the Jazz have a lot of assets right now.

It was such an unusual moment, one team president audaciously cussing out another for the record, that it was at first considered some sort of joke. The team's ability to do so could be the difference for Hayward's decision. The Jazz have two liabilities on their roster - Derrick Favors and Alec Burks.

Meanwhile, Griffin is 28, just one year older than Hayward. The Jazz are eligible to offer Hayward a max contract worth $172.4 million over five years - a deal that includes a 2017-18 salary of $29.7 million and 8 percent raises.
