De Randamie, who became the inaugural women's 145lbs queen at UFC 208, was stripped of the title earlier this afternoon.
"Germaine and her team have talked, and the position is that she will not fight Cyborg because Cyborg is a known and proven cheater", de Randamie's manager Brian Butler told MMA Fighting.
Cris "Cyborg" Justino will face Megan Anderson in the co-main event of UFC 214 next month for the newly vacant women's featherweight championship, the organization announced Monday.
'UFC maintains that any champion is expected to accept fights against the top contenders in their respective weight classes in order to maintain the integrity of the sport'. This only means that I have even more reasons to knock NOG (literally sometimes) for which I stand and what I want.
Being that the UFC essentially created the division for "Cyborg", de Randamie's refusal to defend her belt against the clear-cut number one contender forced the UFC's hand in stripping her of the belt.
Justino is regarded as the best women's fighter in the world and been deemed unbeatable by fight fans.
Anderson (8-2) will be making her UFC debut. Prior to getting the fight with Justino, Anderson had chose to move on and scheduled an Invicta title defense against Helena Kolesnyk on July 15. The former #Invicta featherweight champion will fight for the first time at 145-pounds under the UFC banner, and as you can imagine, this is music to her ears. A former Invicta featherweight champion herself, Cyborg finally transitioned to the UFC in May 2016, where she has collected stoppage wins over Leslie Smith and Lina Lansberg in 140-pound catch-weight bouts.
"We'd obviously been campaigning for that fight, probably for three weeks, but the UFC had told us it wasn't happening", Anderson said.
UFC 214, which takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, is headlined by a hotly-anticipated UFC light-heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier (c) and Jon Jones.
Megyn Kelly's ratings way down after Alex Jones interview
She has defended her decision by noting that President Donald Trump has praised Jones and appeared on his radio program. Lawyers who represent 12 people who lost loved ones at Sandy Hook urged NBC News officials not to air the interview.
Tech CEOs to visit White House
Each CEO was also invited to bring what the official described as a "plus one" to the event who has expertise on these topics. Those eager to see tech execs do just that "are asking them to act like Trump instead of acting strategically and clever".
