Metroid Prime 4 not developed by Retro Studios

Perhaps the most unbelievable announcement of the entire E3 will have been Metroid 4 which was just announced today by Nintendo, and causing the fans to go into a meltdown.

In this intense, side scrolling platformer players will take the role of legendary bounty hunter, Samus Aran and take on the Metroid menace.

Metroid: Samus Returns will arrive exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on September 15, 2017.

The new Metroid amiibo has a squishy texture and features the alien creature breaking out of its glass enclosure.

We didn't just get one Metroid announcement from Nintendo today, oh no, we actually got two Metroid announcements. Given this, and the fact that there's no footage, it would be safe to assume that the game is pretty early in development. Pokemon Company head Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed that a "core RPG game" in the franchise is in development to Switch and "may not release for more than a year".

Courageous the hostile terrain of an alien planet teeming with vicious life forms as legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran. While most E3 conferences major focus was on their upcoming video games, Nintendo also introduced new emoji's to accompany some of those announcements.

Nintendo is keeping details to themselves as no gameplay, release date nor its developer was revealed.

Samus Returns, which was announced for the Nintendo 3DS, is not an entirely new title. Everyone's favorite Italian plumber is back in Super Mario Odyssey.

Since then, there have been a few Metroid titles kicking about, but none have satiated fans' desires.

Nintendo's Bill Trinen has confirmed that the studio, who's worked on the original Metroid Prime trilogy on both GameCube and Wii, isn't attached to this new project.
