"In fact, don't just slam it home unchallenged - take this C-note for your trouble".

LeBron James fashioned an excellent line - 28 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists - but at no point did it look like Cleveland could handle what Golden State was doing to them. Late in the first half, the Warriors built a 10-point lead despite missing 15 (!) shots within a couple of feet of the basket.

"We were excited to get it done for him", said Ryan Drew, vice president and general manager of Under Armour's global basketball business, adding that fewer than five pairs had been made at this point. Guard Kyrie Irving added 24 points, three rebounds and two assists for the Cavaliers. James said he would do his best to be ready for the series opener when his mind was elsewhere, concerned for his wife and children back in Ohio.

"It wasn't just the third quarter, it was the whole game", James, who gave up eight turnovers, told reporters after the Cavaliers were outscored by 13 points in the period.

This time around he punished Cleveland for leaving him free, taking the ball to the hoop for emphatic dunks.

"I don't even remember that", he said dryly. Once during the first quarter, Durant toppled James as he blew by him, then drove in for a dunk.

Durant's defection from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Warriors gave the three-time defending Western Conference champions a level of offensive firepower that can not be matched, and that was on display in the Warriors' 113-91 Game 1 victory over the Cavaliers at Oracle Arena on Thursday night. Despite those lopsided numbers, the Cavs were down only eight, 60-52, in a building in which they know they can win. And this certainly isn't the first game where Rih Rih has been rooting for LeBron James.

The Warriors are so prolific at scoring they don't always get recognition for their defense. "I'm sure LeBron probably thinks he could play better, and you tip your hat off to KD".

Rihanna's appearance at the NBA Finals on Thursday night sparked quite a furor on social media, with some users joking that the singer's too prominent rooting for LeBron James got his wife, Savannah Brinson, all jealous. He scored 38 points on 14-for-26 shooting. The reporter then said everyone was buzzing about the entire thing, which Durant seemed surprised about, asking "Really?" This NBA Finals series is the first time in NBA history that the two same teams have faced each other for the title three consecutive times.

Things took a turn when it quickly became clear that she'd be spending the game heckling Kevin Durant, at one point seemingly yelling "BRICK!" in his direction (though that may have been her assistant and friend Jennifer Rosales, thanks to some intense analysis from ESPN) while sitting court-side. Cleveland finished with 20 turnovers while Golden State had just four, tying a Finals record. The Cavaliers have made three 3-pointers already, but are 1 for 7 inside the arc.

"It started with myself having some turnovers, especially in the first half".

Warriors: Steve Kerr had hoped to feel well enough to return to the bench but stayed behind the scenes in the locker room as he continues to deal with complications from back surgery almost two years ago.

National Basketball Association fan Adam Silver wants to see more competition in the league.
