Armed police guarding FA Cup final after Manchester bomb

Arsenal won the FA Cup over one of the best team's in recent history.

Confusion reigned as the goal was initially disallowed but after consulting with his assistant Gary Bewsick who had raised his flag, referee Anthony Taylor awarded the goal.

Arsenal's Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Arsenal's Spanish defender Nacho Monreal lift the FA Cup trophy as Arsenal players celebrate their victory over Chelsea in the English FA Cup final football match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley stadium in London on May 27, 2017. Not two minutes after Costa's equalizer, Ramsey put his side back in the lead.

Bellerin shot just wide and Ozil hit the post after cutting inside Cesar Azpilicueta, but just as in the 2014 final against Hull City, Ramsey's goal was to prove the victor.

Ospina then atoned for Costa's goal by producing a fine save to deny the Spain striker, and Ozil hit the post late on.

Desperation soon crept into Chelsea's improved second-half display and Moses took a tumble in the box searching for a penalty, only to be deservedly handed a second yellow card.

Police say nothing suspicious has been found at London's Old Vic Theatre after a security alert prompted the evacuation of cast and audience in the middle of a performance.

For much of the first half, Chelsea was on the ropes. Victor Moses was later sent off for diving.

The Arsenal pressure was relentless, but they could not find a second goal. The Blues striker bustles his way through to get a shot in, but Ospina makes a courageous block and takes a knock too.

Mesut Ozil had a shot back-heeled off the line by Gary Cahill while Chelsea had an incredible escape when Danny Welbeck's header thumped against the post and Ramsey bundled the ball back against the same upright. Ramsey tries to turn home the rebound but can only guide it wide. "We will be thinking about all the people who died and were injured".

When his initial attempt to chip the ball into Chelsea's area was blocked, he appeared to knock the rebound forward with his arms before running through and shooting past Thibaut Courtois despite Ramsey standing in an offside position.

Substitutes: 33 Petr Cech, 9 Lucas Perez, 12 Olivier Giroud, 14 Theo Walcott, 17 Alex Iwobi, 34 Francis Coquelin, 35 Mohamed Elneny.

Chelsea player ratings: Courtois 6; Azpilicueta 5, David Luiz 5, Cahill 6; Moses 4, Kante 6, Matic 5, Alonso 5; Pedro 5, Costa 6, Hazard 6.
