MacBook Pro upgrade coming at WWDC alongside 12-inch MacBook refresh

СМИ узнали о планах Apple выпустить три новые модели ноутбуков

Apple will unveil new laptops during its annual developer conference, known as WWDC, next month, according to a report in Bloomberg. The Macbook Pro is getting an improved Kaby Lake processor from Intel (INTC), the 12-inch MacBook will be updated with a faster Intel chip and the 13-inch MacBook Air may finally get an update that includes a new processor.

We last saw an update for the MacBook Pro last fall when Apple refreshed the entire lineup with a new design, USB-C all the things, and the Touch Bar. The MacBook Air weighs 2.96 pounds (13-inch model), while the newer models of MacBook Pros weigh 4.02 pounds (15-inch model) and 3.02 pounds (13-inch model).

Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. But Macs are key to retaining the business of loyalists and the creative industries - the cornerstone of Apple's resurgence at the turn of the millennium under Steve Jobs.

When the first MacBook Air was released, Apple claimed that they had the thinnest notebook in the world.

Microsoft introduced a new Surface Laptop earlier this month, primarily aimed at students that uses a cloud based version of their OS called Windows 10S.

And, this is not because Apple makes a particular ton of money on Mac sales, though the firm has enjoyed a recent uptick inexplicably. While the Air has received component upgrades in the past, it's been nearly seven years since Apple made major design changes to it. That's going to be very big news if true, because, for example, the latest MacBook Pros have only been released last October - following a period of more than 500 days since its predecessors came out.

The 12-inch MacBook with a retina display hasn't been updated in a year. It is high time that Apple releases an update to its laptop, and for that very goal, the new Mac laptops will suffice. Currently, their MacBook Air is thicker than the MacBook Pro that was released previous year.

It's nearly like clockwork that Apple is rumored to be rehashing its entire MacBook line at its conference all about developers and designers. The company is expected to also unveil a new version of macOS at WWDC.
