Magic won't get to interview Markelle Fultz at NBA Draft Combine

So the omission of most of the projected lottery picks from the National Basketball Association draft combine might not be as big a deal as people think.

Fultz averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game as Washington's starting point guard this past season. It's just a matter of hitting the Ping-Pong jackpot in the draft lottery Tuesday to select those players. With the focus on the end of the first round, here are five players to keep tabs on at the NBA Draft Combine.

The Lakers met with Markelle Fultz yesterday and are planning to meet with Kentucky guard De'Aaron Fox today at the combine, per sources. Both Fox and Fultz are expected to be lottery picks. "But Fultz also is a tantalizing option, as is the upside Jackson and Fox each offer". Based on probability, NY is most likely to pick seventh on June 22.

In the eyes of legions of Knicks fans, the point guard whom NY should be targeting is the latest John Calipari prodigy.

The other, other Kentucky guard: Fox and fellow lottery-projected draftee Malik Monk aren't the only Kentucky guards in this draft. UCLA's Lonzo Ball and Duke's Jayson Tatum will not attend.

Of those three, NY appears to be favoring Ntilikina. The Philadelphia 76ers received the first overall pick in the 2016 draft. Listed as the 37th pick in Draft Express' mock, he has a 6-foot-11.25 wingspan - on par with many bigs - and 44.5-inch max vertical that's among the best ever tested. That makes him a liability on defense against the league's taller point guards, but the Mavericks just might reach out in the draft to give him some assistance.

And right now, their best-case scenario is landing one of the aforementioned college freshmen-with no qualms if they can't move up to No. 1 or No. 2 overall. The lefty's combination of size, speed and athleticism is exceptional.

Ntilikina, who was born is Belguim, has been playing professionally for Strasbourg since the 2014-15 season.

Sixty-seven draft prospects will participate in various physical measurements, drills and 5-on-5 scrimmages in the next few days.
