Tied at 2: Gasol lifts Grizzlies past Spurs 110-108 in OT

Memphis won despite a playoff career-high 43 points for San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard.

Gasol hit the game victor but it was point guard Mike Conley doing his best to keep up with Leonard and help them even the series.

The Memphis Grizzlies looked absolutely down and out after getting blown out in the first two games of the series but fast forward to today and we're looking at a tied series as the Grizzlies escaped Game 4 with a 110-108 overtime win.

But it was Conley who led the way, scoring 35 points while also pulling in nine rebounds and dishing out eight assists. "It's scary as hell watching (Leonard)".

WILL HE OR WON'T HE: While the prevailing wisdom suggests the Warriors should just rest Durant for Game 4 since the Warriors are so close to wrapping up the series, it sounded on Saturday night as though he may still be hoping to play.

The fouls were even at six apiece at the end of the first, although the Spurs did go to the line 11 times compared to four for Memphis.

Unfortunately for the Spurs, Gasol got the best of LaMarcus Aldridge later in the game in overtime. Before they knew it the Grizzlies, were trailing 0-2 in the first round.

But the Grizzlies were always able to respond, such as in this bonkers sequence: Andrew Harrison sprinted down the court to block Patty Mills from behind, which led to an electric Gasol and-one.

Following David Fizdale's epic rant, Memphis has been energized and motivated. Matching play with Leonard is turning into a good thing for Conley. He made only five shots, scoring 16 points and sporting a -7 plus/minus rating.

"We were just trying to send as many bodies to him as we possibly could", Casey said.

"I don't think it's ever been done, coming back from 3-0, especially against a team like Golden State", Lillard said afterward. Then the fourth quarter and overtime came and she watched her hero play like the Kobe-LeBron hybrid he's been all season. "I appreciate it", Fizdale said before the game. "I've tried everything and the guy is just tough".

"As for his own player, Fizdale said plainly: "[Conley] is a superstar". Marc's brother Pau had eight points and 11 rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench for San Antonio. "You got to go on to the next play, and the next play after that".

Gasol finished with 16 points after shooting 5 of 12 for the game.

Brandon Jennings came off the bench to score 13 points.

Spurs: Danny Green finished with five points on 2-of-9 shooting. Memphis shot 46.3 percent from the field while going 12-for-27 from distance for 44.4 percent. Memphis went into the frame with a 74-71 lead after the Spurs battled back from a nine-point deficit in third quarter. But passing that first test set Memphis up for all the others that would follow. So I'm gonna check the rulebook to see if robots are able to play in the National Basketball Association, because somehow Pop and them have figured out, they know something I don't know. Of course, we're in desperation mode. "According to the media, we were supposed to get swept anyway", Conley said.

The rallying cries and new attitude helped the Grizzlies beat the Spurs 105-94 and pull within 2-1 Thursday night.

By now you have probably had time to catch your breath after the thrilling Game 4 matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies.

Game 4: Spurs minus-3.5, Saturday at 5 p.m.
