2017 Billboard Music Awards

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards nominations are giving The Boss and his band some love.

Winners of the Billboard Music Awards are decided by album and digital songs sales over the past year, radio airplay, streaming, touring and interactions on social media.

The next closest act for this year's event is Twenty One Pilots.

Other big contenders include twenty one pilots (17 nominations) and Rihanna (14). In the "Top Touring Artist" category, they're up against Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Coldplay and Guns N' Roses, while "Top Rock Tour" sees them battling Coldplay and Guns N' Roses.

Zayn Malik is up for best new artist, while Prince has earned three posthumous nominations including top soundtrack for Purple Rain.

Other contenders for Top Artist are Adele, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Rihanna and The Weeknd. And their final nod came in the Top Rock Tour category, where they square off against Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band.

Musician Pete Wentz of "Fall Out Boy" and singer-songwriter Julia Michaels announced the 2017 Billboard Music Award nominees for five categories live on "Good Morning America" today. To Self-Destruct goes up against albums from The Lumineers (Cleopatra), Radiohead (A Moon Shaped Pool), Red Hot Chili Peppers (The Getaway) and Twenty One Pilots (Blurryface).
