Baggies boss Pulis expects any bid for rumoured target Deeney to fail

Jonny Evans United players must learn to deal with home pressures

Baggies boss Tony Pulis spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, and raved about Watford striker Troy Deeney, although he did state that he doesn't believe the 28-year-old will be up for grabs this summer, as quoted by the Daily Star.

When is Watford vs West Brom?

It has been claimed that Pulis is keen to bring the forward to The Hawthorns but ahead of the game between the two teams on Tuesday night, he has suggested that the Hornets will not consider parting ways with their captain. "I don't think Watford want to sell him anyway".

"I try to instil in every player that we need to fight in every game", he said, "We saw West Brom's quality in the last game against Manchester United. We need to not think about this [being safe from relegation] and think about the West Brom game".

A return of one point from four Premier League games had seen the Hornets drop into the bottom half but any fears they would be dragged into trouble were eased by Miguel Britos' victor.

"The group plays very well together, they play very compact but we had opportunities to spring out of it like against Arsenal".

"We have 27 points to play for and we need to think about playing every game as a cup final". All the same, Pulis is expecting a hard contest as West Brom try to complete the league double this season after a 3-1 victory at The Hawthorns in December.

But he won't know how much he has to spend until he visits Shanghai after the season finishes with chairman John Williams to speak to owner Guochuan Lai.

The Hornets (9-7-13) ended a four-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over last-place Sunderland, getting the match-winner on a header from defender Miguel Angel Britos just before the hour mark. "He has been a big influence at that football club and he has been a talisman over the last few years".

"It's very important because it was fundamental we won", he said.

Rondon is expected to start at Vicarage Road tomorrow night after Robson-Kanu was preferred at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Tony Pulis almost has a full strength team to pick from except the absence of Matt Phillips who is still recovering from a hamstring injury. "The best thing to do is see if we can get him in the squad or travelling".
