Russell Westbrook is going to average a triple-double, and that's insane

LeBron James with sons Le Bron Jr. and Bryce

The Rockets breezed past the Thunder in a Sunday afternoon (Monday NZT) matchup in Houston, winning 137-125 in a game that was a lot more one-sided than the final score indicated.

Darren Collison scored 19 points to lead the Kings, who trailed by as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter. It wasn't just Harden and Williams contributing in the high-scoring affair as four other players from Houston scored in double figures. The Rockets scored 4 quick points after that to seal the victory. Stephen Curry added 21 points and 11 assists as the Warriors moved 2 1/2 games ahead of San Antonio in the race for the top spot in the West.

The Rockets absolutely blew the Thunder off the court.

The Rockets made 50 of their 79 field goal attempts and were a red-hot 20 of 39 (51 percent) from beyond the arc, and looked a team apart from the outmatched Thunder who had no answer to their slick ball movement and shot-making ability. "They got hot and especially with a team like that, they get hot and it can be trouble".

His season averages now: 31.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game. He is now five short of matching Oscar Robertson's National Basketball Association best of 41, with 10 games remaining. When the USA Today decreed that Westbrook won the MVP duel despite the loss Rockets GM Daryl Morey replied with a fire tweet at the highly respected publication. However, it is trying to avoid the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

Westbrook has six triple-doubles in Oklahoma City's last eight games, and has a shot at Robertson's record for triple-doubles in a season (41).

It didn't take long for Houston to weigh in on who they think should named MVP.
