'Beauty and the Beast' is already breaking records at the box office

And that "exclusively gay moment" everyone is talking about? It's cute and has some great moments with some of Disney's most memorable songs.

The live action remake of Beauty and the Beast was released Friday, March 17, in movie theaters everywhere in digital and 3D.

While 2016's The Jungle Book revived a Disney classic and still found a way to establish its own voice and narrative, Beauty and the Beast plays as a direct remake that occasionally ventures into new territory before quickly retreating back to safety. As time passes, Belle becomes friends with the enchanted staff members and eventually begins to have feelings towards the Beast. "I make movies for the kids inside all of us, whether we're six or 60, '" Bailey said. And it provides explanations as to why the enchantress cursed the castle's servants as well as the Beast and why the people of this village have no idea that this large castle is within walking distance from the place they've lived for ages. One day, while traveling home from a trip, Maurice, Belle's father, takes a wrong turn and is imprisoned by the Beast for stealing a rose for his daughter. And the visual look of the character often wasn't convincing, with the Beast looking too much like stuffed toy in too many scenes. Those were just a few problems I had with the film when I was watching it. An inclusive world the director has made a reality using the latest technology to re-imagine even the most iconic scenes. Screenwriters Evan Spiliotopoulos and Stephen Chbosky give the characters and the plot more depth. "Walt took these handsome, timeless stories he knew had lasting relevance, and he then sort of applied the sensibilities of his times".

The performances are all dead-on and the producers of this film really lucked out with the talent they were able to bring into this film. And why would a gay man try so hard to get attention from the town's women? The film appears to feature a character who experiences same-sex attraction to the film's villain, Gaston. Instead, the hype was focused on its actors: the straight-backed feminist Emma Watson as Belle and a slew of other well-knowns as her companions.

As Gaston, he's cocky and probably the biggest douchebag Disney has ever produced.

You've played a lot of serious characters before. How do the Beast and Belle actually fall in love?

The film is so magical. Ultimately they ALL got there to create a satisfying new take on a timeless classic. The one who steals the show is Josh Gad, as Gaston's goofy, but lovable sidekick LeFou.

The only flaw I'd have to pick out was that some of the CGI wasn't quite all there. "Look at her! What if she's the one?".

I could have carried in a couple two-by-fours, I guess, but for the most part, I was in a T-shirt and jeans, which was great.

How do you think fans of the 1991 cartoon will react to the film?
