2 dead several injured in mass stabbing in English city of Wolverhampton

Three air ambulances were dispatched to a playing field in Wolverhampton.

A woman, believed to be in her 30s, died at the scene while a second woman, aged in her 50s, was left critically ill.

Ann-Marie James, 33, was stabbed in the chest at a flat in Wolverhampton by Melvin James, West Midlands Police said.

West Midlands Police confirmed that a "serious incident was ongoing at a domestic address".

The victims of a deadly stabbing in Wolverhampton were the mother and the sister of the knifeman, who later turned his blade on himself, police said.

Police used stun grenades when they stormed a first-floor flat in Leasowes Drive, Merry Hill on Wednesday.

Fraser also stated that he believes the suspect as well as his victims were all related, but included that it is still too early for confirmations regarding how.

Three land ambulances were also sent to the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service added.

However, a police office is believed to have been injured in the altercation, and is now being treated for minor injuries.

A woman stabbed to death by her brother has been named.
