City announces new flights to Chicago and Denver

American Airlines now provides service between Reno and O'Hare, and Southwest Airlines flies between Reno and Chicago's Midway International.

Sonoma County Airport (STS) announces that United Airlines will offer three nonstop daily flights to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) starting June 8, 2017.

United said the service will operate on a daily, year-round basis, except for certain dates in January and February. The route is seasonal to accommodate the busy summer traffic and is planned to end September 5.

But Mora says public input suggests the community wants more access to the Chicago market.

"This new route will give customers from Sacramento easier access to New York City, as well as more than 70 worldwide destinations that United serves from Newark", Anthony Toth, United's managing director of western sales, said in a statement.

"This service will provide 150 new departing seats per day, which is a capacity increase of 35 percent for our community" said John Reed, Rochester International's executive director.

The outbound flight will leave Windsor Locks at 6:30 a.m., with an arrival at San Francisco at 9:46 a.m.

According to a press release, Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport will be the destination and tickets are already on sale.
