'Guardians of the Galaxy' attraction to open at Disneyland May 27

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to hit US theaters on May 2.

During those months, guests can be trained by the Avengers, witness Black Widow save the park and find special super hero-themed merchandise throughout the park.

Disney seems to be taking further cues from their Star Wars experience as the Avengers Traning Initiative seems like an adaptation of the Jedi Academy concept that has worked well in Tomorrowland and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.

While many are excited for a stronger Marvel superhero presence at the park, fans of the Tower of Terror ride are still in "mourning" even though the new Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will be invading Disney California Adventure this summer.

Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action - All that heroism making you hungry? This summer, the Disneyland Railroad, attractions featured on the Rivers of America and the Fantasmic! show will be back in operation after a long closure.

The attraction's opening coincides with the release of "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2", which hits theaters on May 5.

The fun isn't just confined to the Disney California Adventure Park, as the Disneyland Park will also be celebrating the summer with the return of the Disneyland Railroad, the Rivers of America attraction and the "Fantasmic!" nighttime spectacular.

Disneyland Wednesday announced a May 27 opening date for its "Guardians of the Galaxy" attraction. This limited time celebration will bring the Marvel Characters to life. The Resort's hotels are the luxurious, 948-room Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, which also features 50 two-bedroom equivalent Disney Vacation Club units; the magical, 973-room Disneyland Hotel - both AAA Four Diamond properties - and the 481-room Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel with its "day-at-the-beach" theme. Located in Anaheim, Calif., the Disneyland Resort opened July 17, 1955.
