The examinations are to commence from 9th March and will go up till the 29th April for Class 12th, while the CBSE 10th exams will be completed from 9th March to 10th depending upon the choice of subjects by the students. JEE Main 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on April 2 and the Biology examination of CBSE class 12 will be conducted on April 5 as per the date sheets released yesterday.
The five states assembly elections are the reason behind this schedule of CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exam dates in 2017.
But, this year, on account of the assembly polls, CBSE has taken tim and every measure to avoid any sort of conflict between election dates and CBSE board examinations 2017.
"We will ensure there is no delay in releasing the results and students will get enough time between exams". The CBSE Class X and Class XII examination will now begin from March 9, the board said in a statement.
On 8 March, voting is scheduled in some constituencies of Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.
Last year, 14,91,371 students had taken the Class 10 exams while 16,67,573 students would take the exam this year. A provision of 3,974 and 3,503 centres has been made for Class X and Class XII respectively. Most of all the students who are currently pursuing can now their respective CBSE Exam Schedule 2017.
The CBSE examinations traditionally start in the first week of March.
The annual exam result will be declared on time as the board has adopted several IT initiatives which will aid in faster result processing, it said.
As per reports, there is a view that 80 per cent weightage will be given to the marks scored in examinations while 20 per cent weightage will be given to school-based evaluation for the Class X Board exams.
