The finale of The Vampire Diaries is sneaking up on us, set to air on March 10, and everyone has the same question: will we see Nina Dobrev again? We do think that the show can end without her turning up, but it wouldn't be the same and it'd feel wrong to not properly tribute the original star.
When the question was asked to Mark Pedowitz, CW President during the 2017 Winter TCA Press Tour last January 8, he gave a very intriguing answer and elaborated that this question which demands for the answer about Nina Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries". However, he still can not confirm whether or not actress Dobrev is set to return before the show wraps up.
There are some issues with her return to The CW series, though. Her reappearance in the show is yet to be confirmed even after high anticipation from fans. TV Line revealed that Julie Plec is working to bring her back for the end of the series, but there are some obstacles. Despite all the early assumptions that Elena Gilbert might be returning to Mystic Falls, Dobrev hasn't given an official yes or no as of this posting. Dobrev left the show at season six and that she has been placed into a coma. This is also to pave way for her character's return and to match everything in the story.
The Vampire Diaries returns for its final episodes Friday, Jan. 13 at 8/7c on The CW. For this reason, she can not give hints to what's waiting for fans when the show ends.
