Aylesbury educated Claire Foy wins Golden Globe

Let it reign. The Crown rules at the Golden Globes

The TV Series, Drama portion of the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony is officially over.

Claire Foy has confirmed she will be leaving The Crown at the end of season two as the Netflix drama undergoes a massive overhaul.

The 32-year-old also starred in acclaimed BBC history drama Wolf Hall.

Last month at the UBS media conference in New York, Netflix's content boss Ted Sarandos explained a simple reason why Netflix bet big on "The Crown": Everyone knows the Queen.

After scooping up a Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a television drama, it seems the British actress might have even taken home the best-dressed title from the night. Additionally, Vanessa Kirby plays as Princess Margaret, Jared Harris as King George and Victoria Hamilton as the mother of Queen Elizabeth. Peter Morgan who is the show's creator shared that this season will bring into the fore the Suez Canal Crisis and the socio-cultural challenges of the 1960s. He said that the thought of it is not amusing and incredibly painful.

"The danger of writing a story of someone with a long life is that the story goes on and on, and on".

Season 2 will depict the Suez Crisis and the numerous changes that took place in the world in the 1960s.

Not to be outdone is the performance of John Lithgow as Winston Churchill.

"The Crown" Season 1 is available for streaming on Netflix.

"But I really, really, really wouldn't be here if it wasn't for some extraordinary women, and I'm going to thank them".
