The studio has finally released a synopsis for the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok", and it turns out the rumors are true: Thor will fight The Hulk.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release November 3. Place your bets now!
The summary reveals that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will become imprisoned without his hammer and will have to race back to Asgard to save it from being destroyed by new villain Hela.
That "other side of the universe" location is nearly certainly Planet Hulk setting, Sakaar, which director Taika Waititi has confirmed will play a part in the story previously.
The Ragnarok battle will be a rematch of sorts, following Hulk and Thor's fight in in 2012's Avengers (though this time it sounds like Thor won't have the benefit of Mjolnir). There's still no trailer, yet, but there was a hilarious mockumentary from Comic-Con to whet appetites until it premieres. He is featured being given instructions by director Taika Waititi. "But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger - the Incredible Hulk!"
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) gets direction from "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" filmmaker Taika Waititi.
Thor: Ragnarok, directed by Tahiti Wakiti, hits theaters on November 3, 2017, and stars Hemsworth along with a ridiculously stacked cast: Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins, plus an appearance by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.
